Coupeville Writers Group

Sailboats with spinnakersMeeting times are the first and third Tuesday of the month, from 12:30 - 2:45  in the lunch room at CamBey Apartments, 50 N. Main St., across the street from the hospital. Wednesday Writers Group

This group meets the first and third Wednesday of every month, 1 to 3 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland in the small chapel building next to Route 525. Members of this group take turns reading. Afterward, the author is silent as the group goes around the table for comments. The author then responds and answers questions. Our concern is with the craft of writing, so we try to avoid long arguments over controversial content. What you write about is your business; our job is to help you say it effectively. A monthly donation of $1 from each member is collected to help pay the church pay for heat and lighting. Cam Castle is our church liaison. Participants should bring copies of their work for about six to eight members. To share time, readings should be limited to about 1,000 words (three or four double spaced pages), or one poem. Longer work can be divided over several meetings or, if there is time, continued after others have read. Thanks for your interest, and we look forward to meeting you and hearing your work. Contact Susan Jensen.
